The SFBall Weekend
So it's Tuesday Night and I am finally in recovery mode from the SFBall weekender. What a grand weekend it was too. With great Guests, Staff & attendees. I don't think a show could possibly be more welcoming and friendly.
I arrived early on Friday afternoon and was kindly picked up at the station, though the event was really only around the corner. Although the Train Journey was a four hour jaunt all in. I guess I could have flown to spain in that time!
But I digress.
I settled in Nice and Early and got myself in my nice comfortable position behind my table. That was the easy part, I am used to it after all.
The guests were all gathered together in the Green Room around 6.00 to prepare for our stage appearance. Alongside Robert Rankin, J.A Saare, Fwah Storm (Reload) Miltos Yerolemou (Game of Thrones) Armin Shimerman (Buffy) Max Grodenchick (Deep Space 9), Star Trek writers Diane Duane, Peter Morewood, & David Gerrold. There was me Burger King in hand, Garbage Pail t-shirt & hoodie. Oh yes of course everyone else was dressed up! What was I thinking? This was a ball after all, then the quickest quick change I have ever done. Shirt + Boots = Tick.
Then all of a sudden I found myself microphone in hand in front of 300 attendees where I did my very best impression of Lee Bradley not being too inappropriate on stage.

I am pleased to say I have been added to the Guest List for the SBall 19 which will be taking place in 10 DAYS! Yes that's right in a mere 10 days The SF Ball will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Deep Space Nine. A fantastic and intense three day social experience that has a unique atmosphere generated by hundreds of enthusiastic attendees.
I will be there to provide sketches of your favorite characters, I will also have original comic art with me, plus Mars Attacks & Star Wars Sketch cards available!
The 3 Day Weekend starts with a bang with the official dancers night out at the Friday night disco, then dine in real style on Saturday at the formal and fabulous full 3-course black-tie or fancy dress Banquet with late-night cabaret and dancing until 2am. Finally on Sunday sing to your hearts content at the Karaoke-Disco until midnight. The fun just doesn't stop.
Friday night's theme is Quarks Bar.
Saturday night's theme for The Ball itself is All things Star Trek - so plenty of scope for costumes!
Sunday night's theme is Fantasy, Myths & Legends.
Add to this the star guests, autographs, celebrity photo sessions and more - it's a weekend that all attendees will remember for the rest of the year!
See you there!
